How can we protect ourselves?
Get it checked! Unless you live in rented accommodation, where the landlord must provide you with a gas safety certificate annually, there’s no law to demand gas appliances are checked, but Gas Safe Registered recommends an annual inspection, or preferably service, by a Gas Safe Registered professional.
