On completion of a City and Guilds apprenticeship, Darren Mayne qualified as a British Gas Service Engineer in September 1982.  After working in the Lincolnshire area until 1994, he moved on to gain experience further afield.

Working as a contractor took him to the four corners of the UK, as well as in and around the capital.  It was during this time that his expertise was recognised and, after further training reached technician status.

Following promotion to Senior Engineer, Darren became involved in the training of apprentices and technical consultant engineer for the North of England.

This led to a spell abroad, leading a team of Heating Engineers designing and overseeing the installation of plumbing and heating systems on housing estates in and around Stuttgart in Germany.

His wandering over, he briefly returned to his roots with British Gas before finally realising his goal and forming Mayne Gas Heating Ltd in April 2004, the culmination of 25 years experience in the gas industry

Darren has trained and built a dedicated team of Gas Safe Registered engineers and is committed to ongoing training and development of apprentices
